Live Steam Kits Ltd is an associated company of Lynx Model Works Ltd with a workforce of 12 personnel based in the seaside resort of Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire. We have been successfully trading as Professional Model Engineers, building Live Steam Locomotives, Traction Engines and Steam Launch Engines since 2003 and have grown to meet the needs of our market.

 During our work so far we have spent many thousands of hours building beautiful working models for many clients  - some of which have been re-machined “kits” provided by other manufacturers which our clients have been unable to fit together. As a result of this experience we have decided to produce a range of high quality ready machined kits of parts and instructions  including  all parts, platework, boilers etc to enable a keen enthusiast to build his or her own working model coal fired steam locomotive and drive their creation with kits issued and paid for on a monthly basis.
All parts will be supplied in  machined form with some major sub-assemblies already completed  to enable easy completion at home. To reduce costs the majority of components will be supplied in “as machined” finish, requiring some small handwork such as draw-filing on rods etc. A set of files will be supplied. The remainder of the project locomotive will be “bolt-together” allowing the builder to concentrate on paintwork and finish.
 We can offer help and advice as necessary and are able to assist with painting, lining and other assembly work to aid our clients where necessary - all such work will be quoted for on request.
